What is an Orthodontist?

An orthodontist is a specialist in correcting bite and jaw problems in children and adults. In addition to dental school, an orthodontist must have also completed two years or more of full time orthodontic training and speciality certification at a graduate school approved by the American Dental Association.

EDUCATIONAL NOTES:

Dr.Michael L. Stepovich has lived in the San Jose area for over 45 years, graduating from Campbell High School, San Jose State University (Baccalaureate in Biological Science), Marquette University (Doctorate in Dentistry), Saint Louis University (Masters in Orthodontics). Member of all national, state and county Dental and Orthodontic organizations; and has authored articles in all of these organizations, journals and publications. Also, Dr.Stepovich's son, Dr. Michael J. Stepovich, is an orthodontist in Morgan Hill, south of San Jose. Dr.Stepovich's brother, Dr.Alex Stepovich, and his son, Dr.Mark Stepovich, are general dentists in Los Gatos.
